There’s two photos from my daughter and son-in-law’s engagement session that had a super cute story attached to them, and I’ve had trouble figuring out how I wanted to preserve them and the tale. I can journal on a scrapbook layout, but the story would take so much room on the page, I didn’t want it to detract from the photos, so….
I made a panel on the left page of the book and wrote (and hid) the story underneath. I added a little loop of jute to the panel to signify to the reader to look under it.
Basically the story goes like this: Emily and Bryan were in their Seattle Seahawks gear (shortly before the Seahawks won the Superbowl!!!!) and were sitting by the water’s edge with the Seattle Ferris Wheel in the background. The photographer was way across the street so she could take wide angle photos of them. A group of tourists walked by right between them and their photographer, and one guy stopped and said, OMG this would make the most awesome picture with you guys in your gear and the wheel and water in the background! You guys should have a photographer out here with you! At which point my daughter laughed and pointed (the second photo on the page) across the street at the woman taking photos, and said, “we do!!” Ha ha! Luckily, the photographer was smart enough to keep shooting and got it all on film!
So, here’s my “secret panel” being lifted to reveal the story below. It’s “hinged” with a nice long strip of coordinating Washi tape. When the reader is done, the panel lays back down flat on the page.
I hope you like my Smash pages! Tomorrow…a card with the kit leftovers!!
