Purple Lighthouse Card

If you’ve spent much time around here, you know I’m in love with making backgrounds with Tim Holt Distress Inks! Today’s card is no exception!

I created a background sky and decided to make it a little streaky to look more like the color variations during a real sunrise or sunset.  I definitely need more practice, but I feel that I’m off to a good start!  I stamped an image and sentiment from Mark’s Finest Paper’s Lighthouses stamp set.  I added some extra trees, masked off the actual lighthouse, and then went to work with my Distress inks.  I use about a zillion colors.  If you really want to know which ones they are, let me know and I’ll list the names!

I mounted my image on dark purple cardstock and then a white card base, and viola!

Happy hump day!!

Happy Scrapping!
