Stamping On Newsprint

Happy October!!  And happy Purple Passion day!  As every other Wednesday, today is my day over at MFP Speedy TV to write all about my favorite color, purple.
This week is sneak peek week over at Mark’s Finest Paper!  I love sneak peek week!  It’s so awesome to see what all the other MFP design team members do with the very same stamps.  I just love all the inspiration.
Today, I’m using the new Mark’s Finest Paper’s stamp set, Huge Blooms (the set isn’t out yet but I’ll link it once it is.) I’m IN LOVE with this set!  It’s just what it says…really big flowers!  I love really huge images and background stamps. There’s two images along with a full set of sentiments.

I decided to stamp the images on an old page ripped from a book (don’t worry, it was a really crappy book!  Ha ha!)  I masked them so that I could put them together to make them look like one big image.  I colored the images with watercolor pencils and a waterbrush.  I chose the colors of the flowers for two reasons.  First, because it’s officially Autumn, and I love the fall colors together!  Secondly, because on the color wheel, orange is the opposite of purple, so they look AWESOME together,  and of course, red and yellow go on either side of orange on the wheel, so it works out beautifully to mat everything in purple.

See you tomorrow for the Scrapbook Challenge.

Happy Scrapping!
