Glittery Christmas Gift Tags

It’s time for my weekly Purple Passion Column over at MFP Speedy TV!  Only 98 more shopping days until Christmas! What?  Ugh…I was thinking there were a lot more than that and then I just went and looked it up!  Well, I guess it’s time to start working on some Christmas tags.  I made some last year that went over really well with friends and family. So it’s time to come up with something new and different.
I really get in a glitter mood for Halloween and Christmas time.  Everything is shine and sparkle, so I figure why not? Mark’s Finest Paper came out with an adorable stamp set this week called the Holiday Tag stamp set.  It’s the CUTEST set with a stamp for a holiday tag shape, and several Christmas images made to fit inside.  There’s perfect sentiments in the set too!
I dusted off an old technique I’ve shown before, using Glitter Ritz and alcohol markers, along with stamps, to make glittery images.  It’s a fun thing to do and gives you lots of bang for your buck…so to speak!

I hand-cut my own tag shape and then decided to go one step further and used Martha Stewart glitter for the different tag bases.  I almost sold all my glitter at a garage sale last month, and now I’m glad I didn’t!  I used several of the sentiments from the stamp set to stamp the backs of my tags, so that I can write on them and actually use them.  I’ll punch holes and add ribbon or twine when it gets closer to time to use them.

Since the time is drawing near, if you’re looking for Christmas card ideas, I’m about to start my “Christmas Card Catch-Up” series again.  Stay tuned!

Happy Scrapping!
