If you’re here for the Christmas in July Blog Hop, please scroll down to the next post (after you’ve seen this one!!)
Hello friend and happy Thursday! It’s a busy day here at the blog today since I’ve actually done some extra posts! Haha! I hope you’ve been enjoying the Christmas in July blog hop hosted by Mark’s Finest Papers. If you haven’t seen it yet, just scroll down one post below this one. Today’s blog hop is about using non-traditional colors to make your Christmas cards. There’s some FABULOUS examples on the hop!
So for this week’s MFP Scrapbooking Challenge, join us for buttons and bows! Make a page or layout using buttons or ribbon on your project,
Remember this challenge is strictly scrapbook layouts, no cards please. You have to use stamps on your pages. They don’t have to be Marks Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co stamps but if you do use them you will be entered twice for a chance to win. Since it’s a new month, there’s a new stamp to win. I haven’t seen what it is yet, but I’ll be sure to post when I know!
One winter morning back in 2006, I walked downstairs to the scene in the photo above. It was my husband and daughter sitting on the couch, with our 80 and 90 POUND dogs sitting right in their laps!! Those ginormous dogs were absolutely convinced they weren’t any bigger than chihuahuas! It was hilarious and I ran to get the camera! I haven’t scrapped the photo til now.
I found some old DCWV animal print paper in my stash that hadn’t been used in years. I double matted my photo and all the other pictures that I cut out of the patterned paper, and then drew faux stitching all over everything! I made my own title with my beloved Silhouette Cameo! I used some brown and blue ribbon across part of my photo and the bottom of my page to meet the challenge requirements for this week
I found the perfect sentiment to go on my page from Mark’s Finest Papers Zoo Friends stamp set
saying, “Sometimes I feel like I live in a ZOO!” How true that is with all the huge dogs we’ve had over the years! I saw the sentiment and knew what had to be done! I finished off with a few cute brads, and called it good for this week!
We would LOVE to see you link up with us this week! You have until next Wednesday at 8 pm EST.
