Christmas Card Catch-Up #1

Happy Wednesday and happy day after New Year’s!  I am about to let you in on my dirty little secret.  I consider myself a card maker, but this year, I did not send out one single Christmas card…NOT ONE.  Well, I take that back sort of.  I did send one to my bestie that I made a few months ago, because I had to send her something else, so it was easy to include.  Other than that, not a single card.  I had a whole year to make them, but I procrastinated, and never did a thing.

So, this year, I’m turning a new leaf and starting a new weekly feature to keep me accountable.  I’m planning to make at least one Christmas/Holiday card with an envelope, each week of the year.  Of course my goal is to have all my cards made by the first of December, so that I will have absolutely no excuse not to stamp them and send those puppies out. I will post a new card each Wednesday, and I would love to have you join me if you would like to!  If there’s enough interest, I may even look into putting up a linky each week.  We’ll see how that pans out.

Now, although I’m sure you’re completely sick of Christmas music by now, I thought I should add a little something to get you in the mood.  Although, this is probably my least favorite Christmas song of all-time, these guys make it hilarious and awesome!  Have a listen…

And while you’re laughing/marveling at that, here’s my very first Christmas card of the year…

I made this little cutie using Basic Grey’s Snowman stamp, clear embossing powder, and some Tim Holtz Distress inks using a resist technique.  The footless brads are from Imaginesce and the snowflake ribbon is from my stash.

I’m so proud…one card down, about 50 to go!  Let me know if you decide to join in.  I would love to see your cards too, and we can hold each other accountable!

Happy Scrapping!

SUCH a good idea, Amy! As I was finishing my cards the day before Christmas, I was yelling at myself for being such a procrastinator. I just put all my Christmas stuff away, but I may join you on this. Either way, I can come on and yell at you if I don't see any new ones each week! lol

And thank you so much for your kind words on my blog! It's people like you that makes me so excited to come back to the blogging community. =)

Hi Amy, Love the card, and I am totally irresponsible when it came to Christmas cards this year, and actually the past couple of years!! My mom was just saying, "The millions of dollars worth of paper in that room, and you can't send your own mom a Christmas card!" and she is totally right, I have no excuse! So I am going to accept this challenge, if it was actually a challenge haha I will be checking up on you!! You are 1 up on me, so I better get going! Thanks for the kick in the you know! lol Karen♄

Hey Amy, Thanks to you, over the weekend, I accomplished 2 Christmas cards!! I am in this with you! I was so embarrassed that I didn't get hardly any Christmas cards out this year, so I am making mine right along with you! I will post mine later, and post your story, and now mine, and maybe we can get a bunch of us lazy Christmas card makers to rid ourselves of shame! haha karen♄
