Money-Saving Monday #16

Happy Monday!!  I can’t believe it’s here again already!  Ready for another money-saving tip?  When I need to buy any kind of brads, buttons, or other embellishment, I consciously try to buy them in white whenever possible.  Why?  Two words…alcohol inks!!

I had some super cute silver snowflake brads I wanted to use on a page in my son’s and DIL’s calendar that I made for them last year.  The silver just didn’t look right with the rest of the page.  So I broke out my alcohol inks, did a little dabbing, and instantly had snowflakes in just the perfect shade of blue!

In the pic above, the snowflake looks like it’s not covered in color all the way, but that’s actually the flash from taking the picture.  The ink actually covered the metal snowflake perfectly!

Keep in mind that you can also use any type of permanent markers to do the job as well…Copics, Bic Mark-It’s and Sharpies should all do the trick beautifully.

Happy coloring!

Happy Scrapping!
