Happy Monday my friends, and welcome to another Christmas money-saving tip. Last week I decided to infuse Money-Saving Monday with a little holiday cheer for the next few weeks. We looked at making gift boxes with our unused cardstock. If you missed it, you can view that post HERE. This week we’ll look at a way to use up some of those smaller scraps.
Christmas gift tags! Now I will be the first to say that Tim Holtz, I am not…nor would I ever even try to be! His tags are extraordinary and WAY out of my league! I kept my tags simple and quick to make, since I needed a bunch of them.
I found free cut files in the Silhouette store for the tags, trees, snowmen, and gingerbread house. Of course these could also easily be done with punches or cute pics on numerous Cricut cartridges. The idea is to use what you have.
I inked the edges of the top layers of all my tags with Distress Ink and added a little bling to the snowmen and Christmas trees by adding different colors of Stickles. I also used plain old Sharpies to color the hats, gloves, and boots on the snowmen. I opted for different colors for each little guy. No shading or anything fancy…just quick and simple.
And now with just a few hours work and no money out of pocket (since I used what I already had) I have a plethora of tags just waiting to adorn my Christmas presents! I’ll leave the fronts the way they are, and write the “to and from” on the backs. I may even have a stamp for that….!
