Cookies Make Everything Better Blog Hop

Happy Thursday!  Welcome to the Cookies Make Everything Better Blog Hop…a celebration of everything COOKIE! December is cookie time in our house.  Nothing screams “IT’S THE HOLIDAYS” to me like the smell of freshly baked cookies in our home…and not just one kind of cookie…LOTS of them!

I made a “sweet” little layout using my Silhouette Cameo and mixing and matching a bunch of cut files.  The cute little bears came from the file, Latte Bears by Designs On Cloud 9 and were cut from Kraft paper.  I inked the edges of pretty much everything with coordinating colors of Distress Inks, and added a few highlights with a Sakura Gelly Roll pen.    I added one of our favorite cookie recipes too!  The recipe is below…SO YUMMY!

This is the Cherry Chip mix rolled in red sugar

Cake Mix Cookies

1 box cake mix,
any flavor
½ an 8 oz tub of
cool whip
1 egg

Mix all
ingredients well.  Dough will be very
stiff and sticky.  Roll into balls, any size you
want.  Then roll the balls into your
choice of powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, nuts, sprinkles, etc.  Bake at 350 degrees for about 12
minutes.  If making peppermint kiss
cookies, now is the time to press the peppermint kiss down onto the top of the
cookie.  Cool completely.

Possible combos:
Lemon cake and
powdered sugar
Spice cake and cinnamon
sugar
Cherry chip cake
and red granulated sugar
Milk chocolate
cake and powdered sugar, topped with peppermint kisses.
Chocolate cake
rolled in crushed candy canes
Chocolate cake and
chocolate sprinkles
The possibilities
are endless!

love your layout, and I've made these cookies for years. Have taught hundreds of Girl Scouts how to do it and it's just a great recipe. We use the whole tub of whip cream.. 8oz but no matter what flavor you use, always good!! TFS Janet R.
