Our hostess is Jearise from http://lorbysworld.blogspot.com and she will be having a special give away on her blog so make sure you start with her blog to see the prize and how to enter the drawing.
Here is my idea of FAMILY…

This is a layout I made of our Thanksgiving, 2008. One of our neighbors had just been diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer, and was scheduled for a mastectomy the day before Thanksgiving. We knew her and her family were going to have to blow off Turkey Day that year, and me and some other neighbors wanted to do something about it.

So the day before her surgery (which was actually two days before Thanksgiving) we had a huge feast. I cooked and another neighbor hosted. Our kids, neighbors, and a few close friends were there for a celebration of life, love, and thanks. And PS…my neighbor came through it all like a champ. She’s one of the strongest people I know.

Recipe: most of the items on this layout are card stock and scraps from my stash. The photos were matted with a really pretty paper bag from a scrapbooking store…yes, I know it’s probably not acid free, but I’ll take my chances…and I also have multiple copies of the photos just in case!
Thank you for stopping by today and now please continue on to Lucy’s fabulous creation!

What a great layout! So beautiful!
How nice. Family isn't always determined by blood lines.
great layout
This is so wonderful, Amy. I had to take a second look – I could swear I saw my son and daughter-in-law in those pictures! LOL! Must be twin couples!
Love your layout. Having the neighbors rally around is what helped your friend fight. Thanks for sharing
