When heat embossing, I have found that it’s SUPER helpful to gently rub the paper that’s about to be stamped, with a dryer sheet first. Then stamp and pour on embossing powder as usual. When you tap off the excess embossing powder, the dryer sheet’s anti-static properties will keep any excess powder granules from clinging to your paper where they’re not supposed to. Once you heat, you will have a nice clean image, with no “strays.” An added bonus…your craft space will smell great!

var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-31144886-1']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']);
(function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? 'https://ssl' : 'http://www') + '.google-analytics.com/ga.js'; var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s); })();
Wonderful idea. I have one of those little bags filled with some sort of powder.
Fantastic Tip Amy. And I am all for my crafty space smelling so fresh and clean.

Thanks for this info! I'm going to give it a try. I ALWAYS end up with heat embossed strays.
TFS!
