What’s Under The Towel???

If you were here yesterday for What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday, you may have noticed a mysterious covered lump on my desk.  Well, I promised to show you what it is…so now that it’s finished, here ya go!

I found the COOLEST idea over at Infarrantly Creative.  It’s for a planner you can make yourself, but it’s tailored around being a blogger!  Beckie over at I.C. has a short video that shows you how it works.  If these pics I’m about to post don’t make sense, I highly recommend you go spend a couple of minutes watching her video.  She also offers free printables for the pages!!

So, the purple loving hippie in me came out when I chose my paper for the cover!!!  I recycled an old post office box for the cover and used my Cinch to bind the whole thing together.

When you open up the first part of the book, you have a generic monthly calendar on one side of the book, and a weekly calendar on the other side.  The weekly calendar pages give you room to sketch and doodle, and there’s room to write out all of the challenges, blog hops, and projects you need to do or post for that week.  There’s also a small box at the bottom for you to keep track of your weekly statistics, and a spot to remind you to encourage other bloggers.  I LOVE IT!

Then, on the monthly calendar side, you can continue to open it up!!

Until it finally looks like this all opened up…

That’s so that you can turn your weekly pages each week when you’re done with one, and ready for a fresh page and week.

Then you can keep the weekly pages in case you need to go back to reference something.  The flap with the monthly calendar, then flips closed, and you’re ready with fresh sheets.

For the monthly calendar pages, I made them into a “tear-off paper pad” by stacking them together and putting rubber cement on the top edges of the pages.  That way you can tear off each month when you’re done with it and discard it.

A thin piece of ribbon was attached on one side and velcro on the other, to hold the monthly sheets in place when the book is being opened and closed.  Simply undo the velcro ribbon to tear off your monthly sheet when you’re done with it.

I added a few extras to finish it off.  A pen holder…

…and a pocket on the inside to hold cards I will need to send out for that month.  (the pocket was an already made Smashbook pocket…I just liked the way it looked!

Here’s a close-up of the artwork on the front.  I chose to keep it super simple since the paper was so busy.  The font was from the Paper Lace Cricut cartridge, welded together with my Gypsy, and the black background was a tag from the Phrases Cricut cartridge (and I remember that because I wrote it down in my planner!!

I hope you like my new planner (because I LOVE IT!!) and I hope it was worth the wait!!  Thanks for checking it out!!

Hugs,
Amy E.

are you kidding me? Organizing for blogging? …. hahahha…. I just fly by the seat of my pants …. sadly, I'm sure it would just sit there …being ignored … like every other journal I ever started. But…it is beautiful ….and it is a good idea….. but….. but….
