My Guest Post Over at Scrappin Sista!

Hey Peeps!  I have a birthday weekend hangover!  Not a real hangover, since I didn’t drink, but I had so much fun that I’m still in a bit of a haze!  I spent Friday (my actual birthday) hanging out in Seattle with my gorgeous daughter.  Friday night when we got back home I walked into a surprise party my cute hubby threw for me!!  Saturday, my daughter spent almost all day crafting with me!  Now this is a big deal since she’s not much for paper crafting, but I helped her make a birthday card for her boyfriend, and we had a blast together.  Sunday, Hubby took me shopping (just to hang out with me and because I realized I forgot to renew my Driver’s License by my birthday, oops…so he drove!   Haha!) so that I could spend some of the gift cards I got for my birthday.  I can’t even tell you how much crafty goodness I am surrounded by now!  Lots of fun projects to come!

So…today I’m a guest designer over at Scrappin Sista to help her celebrate her birthday month.  Hmmm…I only took the weekend to celebrate, but she took the whole month.  She might just be onto something!!!  Make sure to come back later today, where I’ll post pics and info on my first giveaway…let’s just say, I REALLY hope you like paper!!!

My post at Scrappin Sista:
Hi gang!! Thanks so much for coming to see what I did for Christel’s birthday month, and thanks to the wonderful birthday girl for hosting this awesome extravaganza!

So, a little about me? I’m one of those crazy extreme couponers you hear about. We pretty much get all of our groceries for free (or at least 95% – 98% off!) I also LOVE scrapbooking. I wanted to find a way to combine these two passions, so I’ve applied some of the skills I learned from couponing, to get my scrapbooking supplies super cheap or free! Some examples???

My first Cricut baby bug and lots of cartridges. Cost: FREE!

My Cricut E2. Cost: After combining a sweepstakes winning and a blog win, my out of pocket cost was FREE!

My brand new completely remodeled scrap room with custom built 14 foot long desk, and paper shelves. Cost: $22 plus a few weeks of house/dog sitting for my neighbors!

I love free!  So for those of you who are new around here, my blog is kind of a hybrid between my two loves, couponing and papercrafting.  I try to keep up on the latest great supply deals and give tips and trick on how to get supplies uber cheap or free!

Okay, enough of that…now it’s on to the card I made for Christel! I scrap-lifted a card I found on http://shesasassylady.blogspot.com called an accordion card. I used my Gypsy and cuts from Elegant Edges. Plus, I incorporated some of Christel’s favorite colors. You may wonder why the hearts are on a birthday card…well, lemme tell ya! The first post I ever read on Christel’s blog, quite a long time ago, was ended with her catch-phrase, “I love you and there ain’t nothing you can do about it!” I love the whole idea of that phrase! And, it made me smile. The more time I spent poking around her blog, the more I saw how she really exudes loving and caring in everything she does. So…HAPPY BIRTHDAY MONTH CHRISTEL! And thank you for all that you do!
